Studio/unit brief Building on the Olympic Park Legacy: For a Resilient London
Project title Create

Project description This mixed-use project seeks to restore and protect the creative community in Hackney Wick by providing spaces for creative individuals and businesses to flourish. By providing affordable accommodation, workshops and markets, it will enable makers to exhibit their works and showcase their talents. Key public routes cut through the building, creating a natural flow of movement through the site to communal areas. These areas allow visitors and makers to interact, thereby enhancing creativity. Internal spaces are further designed to encourage collaboration and experimentation, with routes connecting to areas of creative production and exhibition.

Tutor citation Reece responded to the brief intelligently and precisely, providing a contextual solution that considers the cultural heritage of Hackney, but also the morphological relationships of an urban space with large and complex scales. Carla Molinari
