Studio/unit brief Healthy Community: The Architecture of Wellness, Community, and Sustainability
Project title
Incline

Project description This project aims to rejuvenate Gosport’s eastern seafront by addressing the community’s disconnect from its historical roots and a health crisis among its youth. Set against a backdrop of declining public spaces and cultural landmarks, the proposal is a multifunctional community hub that blends a fitness centre, cultural centre and transport facilities into a cohesive urban landscape. Inclined green roofs and sustainable materials are incorporated to reflect Gosport’s maritime heritage and fortifications. The scheme revitalises the high street and waterfront and serves as a new landmark and beacon for regeneration.

Tutor citation Max’s project exemplifies an innovative architectural approach. It intelligently addresses the challenges of reconnecting a community with its fading historical identity, while counteracting health decline among the youth. Graham Ford

Postgraduate

Lopem Luis Lojore

Course MArch Architecture
Studio/unit brief Data, People, Places (Open Cities Lab)
Project title
Survival for the Future

Project description This thesis sets up a sustainable circular economy enterprise incubator in the disadvantaged neighbourhood of San Cristóbal, Bogotá. By identifying gaps in local productivity chains – food, construction and textiles – the project offers practical solutions to boost local economic activity and reduce waste. It connects small businesses to effective productivity chains, creating job opportunities, increasing input suppliers and promoting resource circulation. The proposal includes food processing plants, recycling facilities and textile manufacturing units. This strategy brings immediate economic benefits and supports long-term sustainability.

Tutor citation Lopem Luis’s research and innovative design show a deep understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged communities. The project not only addresses these but offers a scalable model. Guido Robazza, Phevos Kallitsis, David Ogunmuyiwa
