Course BA (Hons) Architecture
Studio/unit brief H20
Project title Reintegration Centre

Project description The intention of this project is to contemplate architecture as a sensory experience around water, integrating a variety of different ambiences themed on wellness rituals. Following the tradition of baths as institutions aimed at both health and pleasure, the Reintegration Centre acts as an environment conducive to retreat, reflection and rejuvenation, enabling social interactions through the shared experience of the ritual of bathing. The project acts as a destination and extension of the public realm along Liverpool’s waterfront, which is now disrupted by the North Docks development.

Tutor citation Poppy’s project developed from the idea of the chrysalis. Using the building’s layers (bricked wall, glass wall and green oasis), the building itself becomes a living system. The design philosophy emphasises the dynamic relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a sanctuary for personal transformation. Aliki-Myrto Perysinaki

Postgraduate

Nour Gad

Course MArch Architecture
Studio/unit brief Thesis Project
Project title For Everyone

Project description The project is a vertical mixed-use scheme made of stacked blocks in Bilbao, Spain, featuring a dynamic weave of spaces for residential and commercial uses. The design aims to create a sense of community. Communal areas, recreational amenities and pedestrian-friendly surroundings are connected into the fabric to promote social interaction and wellbeing. Accessibility and inclusion are top priorities, ensuring that the building accommodates people of all ages and abilities. Each building block is designed with green roofs and cutting-edge sustainability efforts. The vertical structure aims to define urban life in the 21st century through innovation, co-operation and a dedication to environmental excellence.

Tutor citation Nour’s project is an example of a beautifully crafted and comprehensively resolved composition that explores ambitious urban propositions. He has created a dramatic design that acts as a landmark for a new community while addressing challenging risks. Dominic Wilkinson
